Very simply, Trish was a living puppet created by the sealed demon Mundus in order to lure Dante to his death for Mundus' revenge on the descendents of Sparda, who sealed the demon lord away. Her body and mind was formed as is, and was imbued with certain supernatural powers and knowledge of Devils and Dante as a result. Her entrance in Dante's shop was without hesitation, if not outright brutal, owing to her ability to act on orders and without barriers due to her very brief background. She does show tact and the ability to learn quickly, however, developing feelings and semblances of a soul when Dante becomes the first person to show her sacrifices and impulses beyond her demonic world, namely, his saving her at the end of the battle with herself and Nightmare for the sole reason that she resembles his mother. Whether she was created to resemble, be, a human, or because of Dante's actions, Trish saves him in return. Her 'resurrection', even after her sacrifice, is another testament to her abilities, as her tears are to her humanity.

Trish's personality is developing with each day and experience. She is still young in mind and heart, making her somewhat naïve at times, and is constantly learning about the world, or worlds, outside of the underworld. Her main influence and 'teacher,' who she sometimes takes after, is Dante, staying with him as she tries to live as a human and Devil Hunter. She is aware of his perception of her. She tends to act as a child, woman, and mother, at certain times or all at once, but sometimes still struggles with the reality of her creation and existence.

Trish will be set on the timeline after the first Devil May Cry game.
